Yesterday I shared our family room and today I wanted to take you on a small fall home tour. I’ll start at the front porch. Which I worked on over the weekend. Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait until next week to see the rest of it. But
as you can see, I used a lot of traditional fall colours this year.
If you read my post from yesterday, then you know that I’ve been feeling restless lately and have been playing musical chairs non stop. Well the same thing happened in here and I’m still not happy with it.
I seriously don’t know what my issue is but it’s driving me nuts.
First, I moved the mirror and wanted to try some art behind the couch and to be honest, this has changed again but I haven’t taken photos yet.
I also started with this table…
But went to dig out this one instead…
I wanted to bring a little bit of black so I used this throw over it. I don’t know if it looks silly or not, but I like the pop of black.
This is Brody’s ‘ Are you joking? how many times are you going to switch things around?’ look . I know Brody, I know.
I’ve been looking for black shades everywhere but can’t find them and I didn’t really want to order them online in case I didn’t like it and because they’re too pricey. So I spray painted this old shade and I love it.
I however, did not have the heart to paint this one, and I have yet to go find an inexpensive white shade that I can spray paint as well.
I also painted some new art. I painted the tree trunk inspired by THIS piece . Anyone can paint this one, because all you have to do is draw circle, after circle, after circle. So please don’t go spending $400 on it ok? Or better yet,
I will paint it for you and only charge you $50……hmmm?, I do believe that’s called copyright infringement LOL.
You might recognize these adorable little dishes from HERE and the passion fruit is now the most gorgeous rusty color.
Have you seen my friend Courtney’s new book? It’s so gorgeous! This book is a must.
Here are couple photos from it…
Amazing right? Now this book, I do encourage you to go buy…;)
But I digress… These cool fossils are my son’s and were displayed in his room but since he’s now in university (booo-hoooo) I get to use them.
I also painted this real quick using oil pastels….
Oh ya…so a couple days have passed since I started this post and well, I moved stuff around again….
Can you tell what’s different?
I moved the cabinets and they will be going upstairs to my future office soon….:)
Let’s just move on to the family room which I shared HERE yesterday.
And the kitchen which I shared HERE a couple of weeks ago.
And that’s it for now. I want to sincerely apologize for this all over the place post. Thank you so much for hanging in there with me.
I’m sure things will change again and I’ll be sure to fill you in. In the meantime, please don’t forget to visit my friend’s beautiful homes below.
Have a beautiful day.
much love,
Lucy

I love love love the color palette you are using this year. Very cozy. Wouldn’t it be nice if every home could have a Brody to snuggle with? He’s a Beauty.

Hi Lucy, This restless feeling you have is called “my son is at university”. It’s hard those first few months they are away. But at least you have a creative way to help you work through it. I love everything you do. I especially love the videos your post. Not only are the pictures beautiful but it is so encouraging to those of us who want to paint but just need a little direction. I look forward to some new ones for the upcoming holidays. Thanks for being you!!!

Love this Lucy!
Your art is better than the Pottery Barn and I am dying over that dark fall painting! It is GORGEOUS.

Love Brody — what a cute boy and your decorating for fall coordinates with his coloring! Although the throw looks fine on the coffee table, it might be nice to find a nice big black shiny bowl and fill it with the small white pumpkins to give you your pop of black on the table. You are very talented and I love receiving your posts!

Absolutely gorgeous, as always Lucy. I know that restless feeling… it’s fun to see the changes you are making and I think your readers love seeing that even though you love decorating and are amazing at it, it is still a process and hard to make decisions! So thrilled you could be part of this tour series!

I love all of your pops of blacks, Lucy! I’m constantly changing things around the house when the mood strikes too. I totally feel your pain. This is all so gorgeous!

I love your little shifts. I find It’s hard to keep things the same, too. My husband and I joke that the only thing that gets to stay the same around here is him!! And I’m going to borrow your throw across your glass table trick. I have a glass table in my living room and it bothers me that it’s so not very cozy looking!

I am loving your home for fall this year!!!! It all looks so gorgeous! This year I decided to go with some more traditional colors and warmer tones for fall — and honestly I’m loving it. I used to always try to go neutral or “non-traditional”, but this year there’s just something about all the moody, rich autumn tones that I’m really into.
Thanks for sharing.

Oh Lucy, you have such an amazing home – and I enjoyed this “journey” with you. You have done a remarkable job with your autumn touches – and I love that you were ” all over the board” with this post – nice to know I am not alone, haha. Have a wonderful autumn season.
It’s so nice things are finally cooling down…..worst summer ever for heat and humidity, bleck.
