Hello friends. I hope you’ve been well. I can’t believe that it’s already August! Each summer I dread the end of July because August just seems to fly by and suddenly summer is over. 🙁
I have been making the most of these carefree days and as you can probably tell, posting very little. I am working on other things around the house that I will share later on. Can you spot a
little change on this photo? You might not and that’s ok. Hubby couldn’t even tell either…lol.
But I digress, today I want to share with you this fun misty forest acrylic painting I painted a couple of days ago using the DecoArt TRADITIONS artist paint.
TRADITIONS acrylic paint has been around for a while but have recently been repackaged into more modern tubes. This was my first time trying them out and I have to say I love them.
I found that it had a very fast drying time and they go a long way because of their superior coverage.
I also found that they blended really well and my favourite thing is that they can also be used as watercolor paints as they are very dilutable. Is that an actual word? ha
I recorded the process for you even though I’m not a trained artist, I promised you I would record it and so I did. 🙂
Here is the video
The entire process took approximately an hour and a half .
Lucy, this is absolutely beautiful!!!!

I love it! I wish you would sell canvas copies!
That is gorgeous! I thought it was a photograph until I read your post. You are so gifted! I too, would buy a print of that beautiful forest!

Love it! I enjoyed watching you paint. You ARE a trained artist…a self-taught trained artist! Nothing better than training oneself! I am the same. Do not be afraid to call yourself an artist. Not pretentious at all…just who you are…art also translates into many things other than painting. It is design, flower arranging and anything else where original creativity and beauty collide. Some “artists” would say beauty is irrelevant but not for me.
Its absolutely stunning. Thanks for sharing. Painting is such a fascinating thing to do and to watch!
Lucy, I just viewed your video and it was amazing to see you work. Each time I thought you were finished, you added more little touches to bring out another area in your landscape. You are truly an artist. I had a few lessons but it doesn’t come naturally like the other people in my class. I was so amazed about how you create depth in a painting and the trees were fun to do. Thanks for taking the time to do the video and sharing with the rest of us.
I love watching you paint, Lucy! Beautiful work! I am still trying but it doesn’t come naturally to me like it obviously does to you; you have a real gift. Would you ever consider walking us through an acrylic painting sometime? By that, I’m meaning … tell us what color you are picking up with the brush and when you dip your brush in the water, etc? I find blending with acrylics difficult but am wary of using too much water due to adhesion.. Thank you.

This painting is incredibly beautiful. Being a fairly new painter, I was amazed by the number of layers of painter you incorporated. Wow. I agree with a prior comment that it would be great if you would do a commentary video explaining the process and describing your colors and tools.

Gorgeous. I would buy a print in a heartbeat! You have the talent and gift of an artist’s eye!

I have a great place to put this. LOL The bush in the lower left corner reminds me of a Monet – maybe it’s the colors or the way they blend but it is striking. Can’t wait to watch the video. This is an inspirational painting that would be lovely to wake up to – the promise of a new day filled with the unknown but exciting possibilities just waiting to venture into.

This painting is absolutely stunning! I loved getting to see your process and how you kept building on the layers of color to get the lovely depth and details that make it feel like you are on that forest path. I would proudly hang this in my home it is just so beautiful and peaceful.
