Hello friends. I hope you had a nice weekend. We’ve had a busy weekend trying to tackle an upcoming project which I hope to be able to share with you soon.
In the meantime, I wanted to share with you the tutorial for the palette knife painted cake. If you follow me on INSTAGRAM, then you might have seen my instastory when I first had this crazy idea of painting my faux cake with frosting.
At the time I wasn’t sure, but after seeing it in photos, I think it’s so pretty.
I simply got some premade frosting and dyed it with various colors.
I followed THIS process.
I brushed some green on the sides to resemble grass…
Cool right?
I stacked them on top of each other for fun and added a fresh rose to top it off.
I guess anything can be a canvas when you’re creating 🙂

This is SO pretty, Lucy! I must try this idea. I paint (strictly a hobby painter) and am trying to get the courage to try painting with a palette knife. Maybe trying it out first on a cake would be a great idea! If I goof up, the cake will still taste great – lol!

A palette knife is likewise easier to easy than a brush and it makes it possible to lay one slab of shade over another wet color without blending the two. This could be hard to accomplish with a brush.
