Hello my dear friends. I hope you’ve been having a great week so far and have been inspired by the beautiful home tours being hosted by Birch Lane and Country Living Magazine.
I’ve had the honour of participating in two other home tours this year. You can see them HERE and HERE.
And there are only so many photos you can take of your home before they all start to look the same. Therefore, I wanted to see if I could rearrange our furniture in a brand new way.
Because we have an open concept floor plan and the entrance leads directly into our living room/dining room,
the furniture can only be placed in certain ways without looking odd. Here is what it looked like a week ago.
I love this arrangement and will probably go back to it by the weekend. Ha.
But for this home tour, I changed it up to look this way. Though not very suitable for taking photos, it makes the room look much bigger and it really defines the living room from the dining room. Hubby really likes this arrangement but he also mentioned that he will not get attached to it because he knows it won’t stay this way for too long. That man knows me. Ha.
Here’s a bit of an arial view to give you a better idea.
Hubby built this sideboard that sits along one of the walls. I recently shared two gallery walls HERE.
My amazing friends from Birch Lane provided me with a gift card and I ordered two of these gorgeous Estrada planters.
I love them so much because each one looks like a piece of art and their markings are unique.
I brought our accent chairs to this room and though Brody barely fits in them, he loves them.
Moving on to our family room….
I must admit that keeping the shelves looking this way this long is a record for me since I’m always changing things around.
Well, that’s it for me. Thank you so very much for stopping by. Don’t forget to check out the rest of the home tours.
much love,

As a decorating gal who loves to rearrange as much as you do, I must say that I love your living room arranged this way! It really opens up your beautiful space, showcases your pretty table and helps to define the space between your living and dining areas. The blue and white accents are gorgeous splashed around, and I always love how your home is always filled with light!

I think it looks great!!
I wonder how it would look with the chairs not turned inward, but parallel to each other and directly facing the couch?
Beautiful summer decor. Thanks for sharing!

That’s a great suggestion Brandy. I can’t remember if I tried that or not, but I’ll give it a go and see. Thanks so much for stopping by…xo

Your home is so beautiful, Lucy! Love the blue & white, it is so calming! I love the way you styled your bookcases. May I ask where you found the heron print above the fireplace? I’ve been looking for one for quite sometime. And of course, I have to mention Brody. He is the sweetest dog, and so photogenic! Have a great weekend!

Lucy,
I love everything about your living/dining rooms. I love the texture the lamps and mirror give the cozy white upholstery and those planters are stunning. The touches of blue and yellow add a lot of warmth. I could move right in there. Beautiful job!
P.S. I like your “entry statement” to your blog – about planting your craftberry bush to inspire us. You certainly do that. You are one of my fave bloggers!

It is the light walls and large windows that create the illusion of space, and this is amazing.
