Super quick and delicious Churros

One of these days, the kiddies and I went to 7-11 to buy Slurpees.
The lady at the register offered us each little samples
of churros, providing the first time the kiddies had tasted them.

And of course, they loved them.  What’s not to love?
Fried pastry with sugar on top.  I, however, knew what a ‘real’
fresh churro tasted like, so I was not as impressed.

Needless to say, I told the kiddies we would make
a batch of ‘real’ fresh churros and so we did.

1 cup of water
2 1/2 tablespoon of sugar
1/2 teaspoon of salt
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
1 cup all purpose flour
oil for frying
1 teaspoon or more of ground cinnamon

1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine water, 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar, salt and 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. Bring to a boil and remove from heat. Stir in flour until mixture forms a ball.
2. Heat oil for frying in deep-fryer or deep skillet to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).  Pipe strips of dough into hot oil using a pastry bag.  Fry until golden; drain on paper towels.
3. Combine 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon.  Roll drained churros in cinnamon and sugar mixture.

Delicious (as a once in a while treat) and super fast to make!

See you later tonight at The Inspiration Gallery!

much love,

Thanks for the recipe, I adore churros and my Little g’girls do too! They sell them here all over this Spanish delicacy, but the girls would love it if we make it! Big hugs,

Yum..I will be making these soon, I happen to have all of the ingredients. Unfortunately for me, they are not too popular here in Texas, but they sure were back home in Miami, the best was when they sold them out of trucks in the parking lots (memories). Hope you have a great weekend, and thanks for sharing.

The recipe is perfect except…. cinnamon. In Spain don’t use cinnamon in the churros never, even it’s not normal sugar on it.
Just my button. Ah, I’m from Spain and I live in Spain ;)

Until a few moments ago I never really considered making these, but after looking at the recipe I cannot wait to try and make them! I know my girlfriend will love these. Thanks for the pics- the churros look delicious~

Thank you! I couldn’t remember the recipe for churros and I kept finding recipes with egg and vanilla in them. Which I remember those are not needed. I’m excited to make this.
