Hello everyone…Happy Monday! I truly hope you are enjoying the same beautiful weather we are. With the temperatures we are experiencing, it’s hard to believe that it’s already November and that soon we will be welcoming the last month of the year.
Since my previous posts have been about table settings, I decided to do a quick and easy Thanksgiving table for the kiddies. Even though our Canadian Thanksgiving was celebrated back in October, I wanted to share this idea with you because it is truly effortless…
A few years back, I taught art classes to young children and one of the lessons was practicing negative and positive images on black paper using chalk. I purchased some black Bristol board from the DS and lined the table with it. I thought this would be the perfect ‘placemat’ or ‘table cloth’ if you would, to set on a kiddie table. It works just as a chalkboard, yet you don’t need to commit to painting the table and it costs a lot less than buying chalkboard paper.
Scatter some chalk around the table for hours of tick-tack-toe fun. I wrapped the utensils with a yellow and green napkin to simulate corn. I think it looks kinda cute…
So there you have it, a super easy and quick kiddie table. Giving the little ones their own little space and providing them with items to keep them entertained will surely allow some stress free adult conversation at the ‘grown up’ table….here’s hoping!
As usual, thank you so much for dropping by and giving me a little bit of your time; for that I am thankful.
Have a great day!
