Today I want to share with you this sweet DIY secret message candle. I’m so in love with this craft and I hope it inspires you to try it out.
I’m a little bummed out that I forgot to take photos along the way but you can watch THIS video which shows you the entire process.
You are going to need:
Candle making kit
Candle wax ( you can melt down and old candle if you wish)
Scented oil (optional)
Vessel
Scissors
Letter beads
Tweezers
Directions:
1. Clean vessel of choice and stick wick/s to the bottom of the vessel.
2. Tie excess wick around a skewer to hold in place.
3. Melt your wax in a double boiler or as per package instructions
4. Add scented oil to melted wax if you wish
5. Slowly pour some of the wax into the vessel leaving about half an inch at the top. Allow to dry enough that it’s firm but not completely firm.
NOTE: The wax should be hard enough that the beads won’t fall to the bottom but soft enough that you can stick them into the wax.
Place beads on top of wax forming a sentence.
7. Take remainder of the melted wax and pour so to cover the letters.
8. Allow wax to completely dry.
Once you light up the candle, the message will be revealed. You can determine how far down you would want your letters.
I love this idea so much and I can’t wait to make more for my friends and family.
You can keep it PG13 or you can also get a little cheeky with the message. Have fun!
