Hello friends. Happy Thursday. It’s been a busy week and I’m looking forward to the weekend but first, I wanted to share with you this pretty and very affordable Dollar Store Cheese board Christmas Gift Box Idea. This can also make a perfect Hostess gift.
As stated, these items are all from the Dollar Store. Except the cheese and the wine of course.
I found a pretty gold metal basket but you can use any basket you’d like.
The key when making these baskets is to remove the packaging whenever possible or find packaging that coordinates with each other.
In this case, I started with a bag of baguette bites and a bag of cashews. I placed them behind the cutting board. This not only serves as
support for the rest of the items but it also hides the packaging.
I picked up this cheese cutting board but you can use any small cutting board. They are easy to find at thrift stores as well. You can make them
look brand new by giving them a nice sanding and using some oil to condition it and restoring it back to life.
Next I placed a tea towel that coordinated with the theme and a cheese slicer with a little bow tied to it. This adds another touch of whimsy.
I ran into the grocery store and picked up some cheese, wine and a little bit of rosemary.
I made a little bundle of the rosemary and combined it with some winter greens and placed them in the center. I also added a few ornaments
around the neck of the bottle for a little more sparkle.
You can watch a video of the process HERE.
And that’s it! You can of course wrap the entire thing in cellophane and add a nice bow. No one would ever be able to tell that you
used Dollar Store items to make such cute little basket and without the wine, under $20.00.
I hope this gives you a nice starting point to the many possibilities of arranging a gift basket.
I will be sharing more inexpensive gift basket ideas in the next couple days so stay tuned.
Thank you so much for stopping by today.
