Afraid of commitment...Not anymore!

Unless you live under a rock, you've heard of Justin Bieber and Bieber fever.  But have you heard of the new fever going around?  The Chalkboard paint fever?  I know it's been around for a while, but I have seen a surge of cases this past few days.

Let me show you....

The talented Stacey from Chic and Penoche has it bad.  I unfortunately cannot show you a picture, so I strongly encourage you all to go and see how spectacular her chalkboard wall is.  I trust you won't be disappointed.

Jenny from City Cottage also has a high grade fever...je l'aime aussi Jenny and J'aime ton blog.

And just the other day, Roeshel from the DIY club caught it.  She even gives you a how to...how cool is that?

And yes...now I'm feeling the symptoms. This is my version.

I love how it kinda camouflages the 'mother switch board'

And without knowing, I mimicked the shape of my chandelier when I drew the bird cage.

Some fun for the kiddies...

Our children attend a French school, so I try to practice any chance
I get.  They don't like it very much, but they didn't mind this sign.

Close up of the birdie and the whimsical light bulbs.  Notice the
graffiti on the left side?  Those are my hubby's and my initials.

Can I tell you how many times I've wanted to number all of these switches?

But here is my little secret...this is the picture
I sent my husband when he was at work.

Yes!  It's a decal!  AND this quite possibly the best part...I found it at the dollar store.  If you are familiar with my blog, you know how often I mention the dollar store, here, here, here, and here.  I'm starting to believe they should be sponsoring my blog(?).

It comes in rolls of 4' x 3' (approx) and stick on with such ease.

It's not that I'm afraid of commitment, but I think this is a great way to see how a chalkboard wall would fit into your house and lifestyle as there is a little bit of maintenance required specially if you have little ones.

But I can honestly say that after I was done with this wall, I wanted to go back to the store and buy every single roll.  The more I look at it, the more I think I will commit to the 'real deal'.

There was some left over and let's just say, I got the fever and I got it bad......

Cheers!

Have you ever had a beautiful candle with a not so attractive label?

Not anymore.

OK...maybe that's a little too much.

But if my post wasn't enough to get you there, here are some other images from around the web to get you 'infected' with the fever...

Simon, from The Land of Chalk Drawings....awww

A little peek into my art drawer....
I still love colour...even on a blackboard.

Have a wonderful weekend!
Sending you a warm hug
from Bieber-land (that's right...) Canada!

much love,

Lucy

  6. That looks awesome! I have a roll of it sitting in my home school room, just waiting to be put up. I may actually do it today. Oh, and I will now be singing "Well, you know my name is Simon, and the things I draw come true..." all day in my head. Thanks for that. ;)

  27. Yes, what kind of Dollar Store? And in what section would you find something like this? The end of my cabinet doesn't look the best and this would be a great alternative to actually painting the cabinet (which is what I've been considering!)

    Thanks for posting!
