Hello! I just wanted to drop by to say hello and I hope you all had a great 4th of July celebration!
I continue to work on my mural and with only a few days to spare, things are coming along nicely. While I really enjoy the process, if I were to be completely honest, I'd admit I can't wait to finish. If you follow me on FB, you'll know the theme is 'sky' and I chose to do a butterfly migration, which means painting the same butterfly over and over and over and over AND over again...

Time away from my blog also made me realize I have so much to learn about being a 'grown up' blogger. I figure a 'grown up' blogger would have arranged several scheduled posts in anticipation of a busy week so to ensure readers (you) would not be left hanging. The thing is, I don't just want to post for the sake of posting and I don't consider you just 'my reader', but a friend....
In an attempt to make this post relevant, I'll ask if any of you saw the draw feature on Picmonkey?
Yeah, I'm grasping, I know.
Well, my sweet friends, I better run along and get my hands dirty with paint. Thank you kindly for being here and putting up with my 'growing pains'. One day, I'll be a grown up blogger and make you proud! :)
have a beautiful day!
much love,
Lucy

I like your cherry pictures:) Must try Picmonkey again - seems like when I did try it my computer crashed but maybe it didn't cause that. I do like the idea of the "draw" feature - lots of possibilities there!
ReplyDeletegreat pictures! i'm eating a bowl of cherries as I read this! good luck with your painting!
ReplyDeleteCute drawing on Picmonkey.. I haven't tried that option yet.
ReplyDelete300 butterflies and you still aren't done? OMGOSH! I hope you share pictures o the mural when you are done! Love the pic monkey app. I am going to see if I can figure it out- that might be fun- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteEU SEMPRE SENTI ORGULHO DE TI!
ReplyDeleteHi Lucy, I was just at the butterfly conservatory in Cambridge Ont. It is so interesting and I learnt so much there. Took my two grandsons who are five and they seemed to enjoy. I can hardly wait to see the finish mural. Blessings Sandra
ReplyDeleteLove this post, Lucy, and your photos are just always a joy to view! I don't care if they are relevant or not!! Can't wait to see some photos of your mural! I know it will be fabulous!! What a ton of work! You go girl!
ReplyDeleteThe drawing feature is too cute! Might have to give it a whirl!
Hugs to you!
Becky
Hi Lucy~
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures, and think they fit in just right with your post! :) AND I love the little drawing, too~ so cute!
And just for the record, you are a lovely blogger just the way you are! Life gets busy sometimes, and sometimes there are big projects that just take a lot of time! And wow, you are working on a mural! I am so impressed...I guess I could do that if I could just paint stick people! ;) SO, work and paint and don't worry about being any different than you are! It's YOU your friends like to visit! :)
Blessings to you,
Jenni
I've got to get myself on Pickmonkey...fast!!!! Have a great weekend and I'm glad your project is coming to an end. You're just a girl that likes to complete stuff - good for you!
ReplyDeleteYour cherry photos are gorgeous and I always look forward to reading your posts... you don't need to change a thing. Your mural sounds amazing!
ReplyDeleteI don't think you need to change a thing..your creativity and the beauty you see in everything is what keeps everyone coming back (not your posting schedule)
ReplyDeleteSmiling cherries back at you! I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of your mural. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI think your blog is beautiful. Your photos alone...perhaps you can school us in the ins and outs of DSLR :) You are in my daily must reads.
ReplyDeletePeriodic breaks from the blog are good. July and just after Christmas are dead times on the blogs, so those are my "vacations" I suppose.
I just shut down my site for the week on a whim just before the holiday. Need to take a step back. I'm actually cleaning up the archives and becoming rather sickened by the early photos. With flash. Grainy. Gah.
Next up...a fancy camera. I think selling a few things around these parts will garner some cash...
Have a good weekend,
Nicolette
Hi Lucy,
ReplyDeleteIn my books you are already a "grown up" blogger. I never mind if I get a blog I enjoy once a week and never expect it to be every day. I am inundated with emails, and love to take the time over the posts I enjoy.
Those cherries look magnificent against the white.
Good luck with your mural.
Please don't feel pressured to post each and every day!
Lucy,
ReplyDeleteI did not know that picmonkey had that feature.I must check it out.Love your little cherry art!Have a great day!
(((Hugs)))

Ha ha, loved this especially the cherries having a conversation. I've never tried the draw feature on Picmonkey, just the collage and text but I have to try this out next time. Second time visiting your blog and really enjoying it. BTW, I loved your DIY post on blue canning jars and will be featuring it on my blog post tomorrow - with all due credit to you of course. Thanks.
