I'm not sure if Blogger has been experiencing issues as this post kept disappearing from my drafts. As this is my third time re-writing it, I'm going to keep it short and sweet...
Over the weekend, I made some pretty

roses to be given to the kiddie's teachers...
I have learned a few things about myself since having first started this blog. One recent discovery is my love for working with paper and I know I'm just scratching the surface of this new found love...
Materials
Floral Wire, Skewer or Lollipop Sticks
Floral tape
Streamer or Crepe Paper
Scissors
Tape
Hot glue gun
Chocolate Hershey's Kisses
1. Fold streamer (or crepe paper) several times in an accordion style
2. Cut simple petal shape (the flowers pictured have approx 12 petals)
3. Tape chocolate bottom to bottom as pictured
4. Wrap floral wire to tip of chocolate kiss or insert skewer or lollipop stick
5. With a low temp glue gun, dab small dots of glue onto petals and attach all around chocolate. Shape petals and gently curl paper under with scissors
6. Wrap floral wire around tip of chocolate and secure with tape
7. Cut simple leaf shapes and attach to stem
I had painted the bottle the flowers are sitting in about 2 years ago, long before I knew about this little blog world. Simple, but pretty, no?
I also wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who entered the Jo Totes giveaway. If you have not yet done so, please go here as there is still time to enter.

ReplyDeleteI too, love working with paper. After pining for the past year, I finally bought the Cameo. Even though I try to keep most of my art old school and hands-on...I just couldn't resist.
Happy day,

ReplyDeleteThis is so lovely. I was going to do almost the exact thing but with hearts and fabric. Yet yours are just so GORGEOUS. I am in a craft slump anyway. And Lu...your blog is all over the place AMAZING lately. As if it was not before. I have not visited anyone in so long but just scrolled through here and just sighed at all the beautiful things you have created. You always inspire me! Lots of love and hugs to you. Been thinking of you a lot this week...

ReplyDeleteYay, thank you so much for this!!! I am having a baby shower right before Valentines and wanted some adorable decorations to tie them together. I love these. Silly question, but I could be wrong but did you do a post with real flower, trimming the stems and making them into a box? I saw the idea a while ago, thought is was so adorable but when asked to do the baby shower I went looking for it and can't find it. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHi Alyssa, I tried to respond directly but you are a 'non-reply blogger' ...:( hope you see this...here is the link...good luck with your baby shower...xo

So cute! I'm pinning this right now :)
ReplyDeleteI just love your blog and your crafts are very creative. At Christmas time I was in love your penguin craft and I did something similiar but with only with empty juice cups glued onto each other. I made the caps out of scraps of fabric and scarves. There not at my blog but I did penguin ornaments that were so cute. I have a few Valentine crafts and I would love if you can take a peek at my blog. Thank you.
