Ladybug, ladybug...

Hello my sweet friends!  I hope you all had a wonderful holiday filled with friends, family and lots of delicious food.  It seems like we enjoyed bbq food all weekend, which I find so hard to resist, but thankfully it can also be very nutritious (if you choose wisely).

On my previous post, I shared with you a summer table setting.  I found these adorable vintage watermelon napkins which coordinated so well with the entire theme, but while taking pictures, the napkins kept flying off the table.  So I thought it would be a cute idea to make a little napkin weight by simply cutting out some of the watermelons and using ModPodge to attach them to a painted rock.  So easy and yet so useful...

Because I often paint rocks with the kiddies in the summer time, they not only felt left out that I had done this without them, but they were also surprised that I had glued the pictures and not painted them myself. Can't a girl take a shortcut once in a while?

Well, needless to say we painted some more rocks...

I painted a little berry and while editing the photos I thought I should have added a little quote of some sort.  What do you think?

I found a website by a very talented artist named Ron CliffordHe paints all sorts of beautiful art on rocks and I loved a little red lizard he had painted and decided to paint my own...a turquoise one of course.

Painted rocks by the kiddies....

I continue to work on the panda mural that is due this Sunday, but at the same time I'm also trying to spend some time with the kiddies. Yesterday we built a habitat for my boys' little froglette.  Hubby had taken them to catch tadpoles about a month ago and over the weekend one of them lost its tail, which meant he needed a new bachelor pad.  We also needed to make a fruit fly trap to feed them to it.

Today we went strawberry picking and made some strawberry smoothies; tomorrow we'll make some delicious homemade jam.....we love our summers!

I hope you're enjoying your summer and as always, I am grateful for your company.

much love,
Lucy

  4. Hi Craftberry. I am honoured you found my rock paintings inspiring. I didn't realize so many people were interested in it. Thank you for crediting me as well for inspiring your lizard rock. I have always been such a realist, your use of colour is quite alive and refreshing. Keep up the good work!!
