Getting my Martha on....

Today I walked a quilted path.
Bricks made of fabric cushioning my every step.
Downy pillows scattered along the way.
Felt animals smiling and going about their day.
Pink batting clouds gracefully dancing among the linen mountains.
Ribbons hanging from every branch and white beaded silk birds making bows out of them.
It was a place of softness, tenderness and beauty.

If I had a craft room, this is how I would keep my ribbons.

Hanging freely from white painted branches.

But the reality is.............

This is how my ribbons live :o(

Until I had a light bulb moment and turned this giant chocolate container into this...

"Good!  Now lift it up a bit!  No, a little more...down a bit...up a bit.  Ok! Perfect!"

A brand new home for my hard working  ribbons.

Please excuse him...he just wants his 15 minutes of fame.

The ribbons sit neatly inside the newly decorated tube....but if that's not tidy enough for you....

I also made another slit where the ribbons can be tucked when not being used.
Oh Martha would be so proud!
Me loves!

 But let's keep it real...

I still have these many more ribbons who need a home.

And in the spirit of 'keeping it real'...
Here is how my drafting table really looks like....paint stains and scuff marks everywhere.

But I couldn't leave you with that as my last impression....so here is another beautiful picture of my new ribbon holder (and of course, my old faithful wooden man).

I hope you have an honest and beautiful day!
much love,

Lucy

ps. I am often in a playful mood, which you may conclude from reading some of my posts.  However, rest assured that at no time do I speak to my wooden man nor rely on him to stage my photos ;o)

  1. A perfect reuse of that container. And your little wooden mascot is sooo cute! I love, no I crave, order. Unfortunately, right now I don't have enough of it! Seeing the order you created from your ribbon chaos made me smile. ;)

Thanks for linking to my party. It's fun to see what you link up each week.
